The Agenda of The Anti-Christ.

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

By Anthony Smith In this, a season of fear, where does the Christian Community Stand? Are we united as one, as Jesus commanded, or are we split into factions, one against another? I am not a charismatic, evangelical, nor part of the new world religion, what I am is, a believer of the Bible as written. Prophecy isn’t that hard to understand, if we look at the agenda of the anti-Christ, as reported by scripture. We are bombarded by many false looks into the past, present, and future. The Books of the Left Behind Series are Fictional, and the Book, The Da Vinci Code, also being fictional, are nothing but interruptions into our Journey into the Light. Distractions that, I must add, have no purpose in our lives. These Books, as with many others, are written, not to inform of the truth, but has only one purpose, To Make the Writer Rich. Fear in todays society, rules many of the populaces decisions in what to buy, read and contribute to. And believe me, many will take advantage of this very fact. If man can believe, scientist put a man on the moon, then why can’t they accept that prophecy is an intricate part of Scripture? Most of the agenda of the anti-Christ will be to confuse and deceive many into believing that,If it feels good, Do it. is totally acceptable. He will be a master of delusion, as many today are entertained by magicians, He will take it one step further. He will conger up visions of grand task, and wonderful insight, a magicians, magician. The Anti-Christ begins with deception, making the worlds population believe that He, being in control of every nation, can bring everlasting peace upon the world. He will come out as a man of peace and a master of warfare. His military action, against the first three nations, against His control, brings no up roar against Him. This is proven by the prophecy in Daniel 7:24; And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. There must be good reason that the nations of the world do not rise up against this military expansion. This one fact is in direct contrast of todays world, where one nation trys to invade another, Nations rise up against the aggressor, many times at great and terrible cost. The three nations must be worse, than the one taking them over. Nations of great humanitarian faults, terrorism, nuclear threat, genocide or some other reason, this is any body’s guess. But the fact is, that the former reactions, from other nations as today, will not be those any more, when the anti-Christ is making war. In Daniel 11:37 we see other signs of whom the anti-Christ will be. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers (This is indicating that, The ancestors of the anti-Christ, were worshipers of one God, all being in unity, as to whom they all held their allegiance.)(Secondly, we believe this man to be Jewish. Why? Look at the phrase again, one word stands out as being Jewish in nature. That Word is the word; God. Looking in to scripture, as we read it, no where in the Bible is the word God, capitalized, except where it is indicating Jehovah. Interesting fact?)(1st.John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. ) , nor the desire of women, (Here we see that this man will have no wife, girl friend, nor any dealings(Sexual or otherwise.) with women.) Weather this man will be a eunuch or not doesn’t matter, except this may also be a sign as to His identity.), with any woman. nor regard any god (Not as an atheist, but of self- glorification.)(The Anti-Christ will not be an atheist nor a believer in any religion established on this earth, but will establish Himself as God and begin a new religion based on fear.) : for he shall magnify himself above all. The word anti-Christ may only be seen in 4 places in scripture (1st John 2:18, 2:22, 4:3, and 2nd John 1:7, but its not His name but His attribute, a symbol, a pattern, a contradiction of all truths. The anti-Christ is both a spirit and a man. This is where many theologians are confused on this matter. Many try to equate the anti-Christ as being past, Kings, Popes, Presidents, and Leaders, but these people had only the spirit of anti-Christ to lead them. The word Anti-Christ means, to be in opposition, to the Truth, the light, to The Lord Christ. We see proof of this in 2nd John 1:7, For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an Antichrist. This is the spirit I was speaking of. We are starting to see the difference between these many Antichrist, and the one that is after the working of Satan Himself. In Daniel 8:24 we see that the Antichrist isn’t working alone, but as a unity of spirits. Lets read and understand. Revelations 13:4, And they worshiped the dragon(Satan) which gave power unto the beast(Anti-Christ): and they worshiped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? In this last verse we see that the idea of the anti-Christ being past tense is totally wrong. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power (Where does this power come from? Satan.)(Satan is a spirit, the bible tells us so. Many look at the Bible with Three D vision, but a Spirit does not hold to our Three D view of the world. Spirits are under a different set of rules and limitations.): and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper (Become rich and famous.), and practice, and shall destroy the mighty(Nations and other false religions) and the holy people.(Israelites.) Many Bible Theologians, become offended when I mention that Israel is the center of the end times prophecy’s, but they over look this last verse, It states the Holy People, in scripture it only recognizes Israel as Holy and none other, Holy City Jerusalem, people, Nation, etc. So our interest in these in times, concerning prophecy and the Antichrist, must be turned toward, Israel. Prophecy is not a view of only one verse, but rather a comparison of many, comparing scripture with scripture we see the complete package. These next few verses shows the power of God over man. Gods prophecy’s must and will be fulfilled by intervention of God with the hearts of man. Rev 17:15-17, And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (This is the one world Leader. Many say it represents the United Nations, but in my opinion, the Anti-Christ will not need the U.N. To gain power, but will also gain power over them.) He will be a solitary intidy, not needing any alliance to gain power.) And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, (upon the beast. signifies the anti-Christ hold over the ten Kingdoms and they are led by his charismatic and fearful nature.)these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.(War, Terrorism.) For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, (These kingdoms will believe that they are being led by their own agenda, but contrary to their beliefs, God is in control of their thoughts and actions.) and to agree(Act as one.), and give their kingdom(Consortium) unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. The Cleansing and Weight Loss Benefits of a High Fiber Diet

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

By Brenda Watson, N.D., C.N.C In addition to its beneficial role in disease prevention and healthy weight management, fiber also helps support the bodys natural cleansing and detoxification processes. Many experts recommend eating between 25 to 35 grams or even more of fiber each day to maintain your health, so it is important to understand the two specific types of fiber and how they work. Both soluble fiber and insoluble fiber help purge unwanted toxins from the body. Soluble fiber (found in fruit, beans, oats, legumes and nuts) dissolves in water and leaves the digestive tract slowly. As it moves through the intestines it works like a sponge, soaking up toxins and capturing them in order to prevent their reabsorption into the bloodstream. Insoluble fiber (found in wheat bran, dried beans, whole grains and seeds) is not water-soluble; it passes through the digestive tract virtually intact. During its journey through the intestines it helps to sweep the colon free of debris by removing toxins from the intestinal wall. It also tones the bowel muscles by creating resistance and giving them something to push against, thus promoting peristalsis (the wave-like motions that move food through your intestines). Peristalsis is necessary for healthy elimination, and healthy elimination is an important step in ridding toxins from the body. But just how do those toxins enter in the first place? The buildup of toxins in your body is the result of both external and internal toxins. External toxins such as pesticides and pollutants come from our surrounding environment. They seep into the earth, water and air and can cause severe health problems. Internal toxins, however, come from within. They are the waste products that result from everyday physiological processes such as energy production and digestion. Since many people do not digest protein, starches and fats efficiently, they overproduce internal toxins. The body absorbs both the internal and external toxins and circulates both to the liver. Along the way they can be deposited in the organs and tissues, which can cause inflammation and lead to poor health. Because fiber is a powerful ally in your battle against toxinsabsorbing the toxins that come from the liver and gallbladder to the gut (as well as cholesterol, estrogen and old red blood cells)it is essential to get plenty of fiber in your diet. Consuming a ratio of about 65% insoluble fiber to 35% soluble fiber is ideal, as it reflects the natural balance found in whole foods. The best way to provide a balance of soluble and insoluble fiber is to eat a variety of fiber-rich foods. Legumes and unrefined grains such as oats, brown rice and whole wheat are excellent sources of mixed fibers. Among fruits, apples, avocados, oranges, bananas, grapefruit and berries provide the most fiber per serving, and high-fiber vegetables include spinach, endive, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. Tips for Choosing a Good Lawyer

Monday, January 28th, 2008

By Marcela Devivo Choosing the right lawyer can often seem like a daunting task in today’s world of scammers and frauds; television and the media often instill in us a stereotype of ruthless lawyers who only care about money and prestige. And while there are some who fall into that category, the majority of men and women practicing as lawyers are solid professionals who want to do their job well and honestly care about the services they’re performing. There are numerous excellent lawyers around; you just have to make sure you get the one that’s right for you. All lawyers are not equal and do not specialize in the same tasks; many take on roles in specialty fields of law, such as personal injury law and finance law. It is up to you to determine what kind of lawyer you need; luckily there is a wealth of resources on the web for people who need to figure out what kind of lawyer they need. Remember, you wouldn’t hire a divorce attorney to help you with tax problems, and you certainly wouldn’t hire a tax attorney to help you with a divorce case. Thus it is imperative to determine what kind of case you have and find a lawyer accordingly. After you’ve figured out what type of lawyer you need, it’s time to find one. Ask everyone you know if they have any recommendations. If they don’t, do what research you can online and find someone who meets your needs. Before you contact them, look at their credentials. Call the bar association or visit their website to determine if the person really has a license and how clean of a record they have. Find out how many cases they’ve won or lost, how many have been thrown out, and any other details that might help you decide. When you contact your lawyer, request references from pervious patients before you make an appointment; this is a great way to determine if the lawyer is good and takes care of their clients. Many lawyers offer free consultations, so don’t be afraid to take advantage of the opportunity to check them out. While you’re there, you can also ask for a list of client references. After you choose your lawyer, you will sit down with them and discuss fees. Most lawyers, regardless of specialty, will request a retainer just for hiring their services. On top of the retainer you may be charged hourly or on contingency. Contingency simply refers to the percentage of money a lawyer may earn if you win your case; in some situations they may take as much as 40%. Retaining the right lawyer makes all the difference in your case; it could be the difference between winning and losing. If you have a good, expert attorney defending you who is a specialist in the area in which you need representation, you’re on the right path. Laser Hair Removal: How to Buy Used Equipment

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

By Gary Holdon If you are the owner of a laser hair removal clinic you know that the cost of the equipment is a costly expense that can set you back thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of dollars. Thanks to the growing industry and demand for such techniques the supply and demand curve is favoring the manufacturers who are raising their prices to take advantage of the hot market. However there exists an alternative to helping keep costs under the control through using brokers and clearance houses to buy used equipment and save substantial amounts of money. As with any business, laser hair removal clinics come and go. Some flourish while other close up shop for a variety of reasons. Often you can buy their hair removal equipment for a fraction of the price it originally sold for as new. Many specialized brokers exist in the market that can help you with such a purpose for a small percentage fee. Because of the delicate nature of this equipment you want to be careful that anything you purchase that has been previously in service can continue to deliver the safety and precision needed. Brokers routinely buy up the inventory of defunct clinics and recalibrate and test the equipment. Many times they will also go to the expense of having the equipment re-certified. When choosing a broker to buy such equipment from you should be careful to only deal with those who are employ certification techniques to make sure you are getting the best possible equipment. Remember, no matter how cheap equipment might be if it causes harm or damage the legal ramifications can be staggering. Never forget that you get what you pay for! Learn How I Lost 150 Pounds in 14 Months

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

By Ron Gregory This is not just another fad diet book of which fill libraries, bookstores, and the internet, but the true story of how I lost 150 pounds in about 14 months (and kept the pounds off). A story, which I believe anyone who can walk, will benefit from. First let me back up a bit and explain how a middle-aged 6 0 male with a medium to large frame got to be 335 pounds. Well, it wasnt hard and didnt seem to take all that long. It was eating lots of fast food, burgers, and little to no exercise over the course of a few years. Sound familiar? In my 30s and 40s I was fairly active with scuba diving and just in my job itself. Then all of a sudden my job changed to where I sit at a computer eight hours a day (and still do), instead of being a busy technician building and testing things. With age also came the slowdown of my bodys metabolism (I amnow 54), coupled with a sit down job and eating lots of fatty burgers and other high calorie meals. Especially bad was eating big meals just before going to bed. It didnt take long to find myself at 335 pounds. I blew up like a big fat whale and my huge belly hung way over my belt line. I had to buy 3X shirts and 50 waist trousers to go around my bulk. I looked and felt just awful. The time came when I finally said enough is enough! I was not feeling good, was out of breath all the time, and could hardly walk up the stairs to the bedroom. I went out and bought a good digital bathroom scale and weighed myself the next morning (undressed and after using the bathroom). The max limit on the scale was 330 pounds. The scale gave me an error message (a big fat capital E). That meant I was heavier than 330 pounds! Oh my God I thought! It cant be! That morning, I weighed myself at work on the shipping scales. My weight was about 340 pounds fully dressed and after eating breakfast. That meant my true morning weight was around 335 or so. Steps I took to lose the pounds I knew I didnt want (or could afford) to buy expensive exerciseequipment. Nor did I want to spend a lot of money to join a health club. There had to be a better way. I did some research on the internet about aerobics and metabolism (the rate at which the body burns fuel) and came to the conclusion the answer to my weight problem was to increase my metabolism through aerobic exercise, and by changing my eating habits. The strict definition of aerobic is with oxygen. The body uses oxygen to burn fuel. Aerobic exercise improves oxygen consumption by the body and burns fuel more efficiently. Ilearned that aerobic exercise (like walking at a brisk pace for 20 or more minutes without stopping), will increase the bodys metabolism (perhaps up to several hours), even after you stop exercising. This is just one of the added perks of aerobics. After getting freaked out when my new digital bathroom scale went Tilt, this is what I did 1. I created a spreadsheet on my home computer so I could track and record my weight each Saturday morning (you can choose any day you wish, as long as you are consistent on when you weightyourself). Once a week is best. 2. I researched the internet about losing weight, and learned about metabolism, aerobics and aerobic exercise (and how they affect the body and calories). I figured I should be about 180-185 pounds for my height and frame, so I adjusted my daily calorie intake for that body weight. No special diets to speak of, just calorie intake adjustment, although I do try and eat healthy foods most of the time. 3. I invested in a good pair of walking shoes. This is critical! 4. I measured out one mile (using the odometer of my car), and timed how long it took me to walk one mile at a brisk pace (brisk pace meaning walking fast enough to elevate my heart and respiration rate). It took me 20 minutes to walk one mile. A 20-minute mile is not all that fast, but fast enough for someone weighing 335 pounds. And 20 minutes is the minimum workout time for aerobic exercise to be beneficial to the heart. My course was nothing more than the sidewalks of my neighborhood. Partly homes and apartments, and partly businesses. 5. I walked one mile per day, everyday, for about the first month (a 20-minute walk after dinner). I noticed my energy level was building and I felt better. After about the first 10 days, my digital bathroom scale began to give me a number instead of the big fat E error message. Definite progress! 6. The second month I increased my distance to one and a half miles a day (or a 30-minute walk after dinner). The soreness in my legs gradually disappeared. 7. I continued this pattern of increasing the distance by one-half mile until I was up to six miles per day (doing three miles before work and three miles after work). Six miles a day may be a bit extreme, so you may want to adjust your walks accordingly. But it worked for me and got to the point where I could walk three miles without breaking into a sweat. The pounds melted off! 8. After I lost nearly 100 pounds, I scaled back to four miles a day (two before work and two after work). I walk the miles faster too, about a 17-minute mile). 9. After 14 months, I reached 185 pounds and thats apparently where my body wants to be. I continue to walk four miles everyday, watch my daily calorie intake, and have stabilized at 185 pounds. Do I still eat a big fat juicy burger and ice cream once in awhile? OH YES! I love that stuff! But I religiously weight myself each Saturday morning and my weight seems to be happy and steady at 185. I dont deprive myself of the foods I love, but I have learned what, when, and how much I can eat and get away with. One has to experiment and adjust accordingly. I look forward each day to my walks. In fact, I get a sense ofaccomplishment after each walk. A fringe benefit I guess. Another fringe benefit is that walking is a great stress reliever especially after a hard day at the office. All in all, I am in much better health. That 150-pound barbell I was carrying around all day is gone. Myheart and cardiovascular system is much healthier all due towalking. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits (other than the obvious health benefits) is that the people in the neighborhood and the storekeepers stop me all the time and comment on how I look. These are the people who would see me walk by their homes and stores each day. They saw a once very fat person transformed into a thin person. The bottom line I was sick of being obese and I knew it was killing me and that I needed to do something and quick. I was a sure candidate for a heart attack or stroke. After doing a little research, I found the best way for me was aerobic walking coupled with a change in eating habits. There other types of exercises that will work too, but I believe nothing is as good for the human body then walking. The benefits are enormous and the cost is, well, the price of a good pair of walking shoes andcomfortable clothes. Its enjoyable too! Forget those expensive boring indoor treadmills! Go for a walk in the great outdoors! If you can walk, have a place to walk, by all means go for it! If you are like me, you will increase your energy a hundred fold. Start off slow at first if you are way out of shape, a few minutes a day. Walk briskly and swing those arms. Increase until you can do a mile, then a mile and a half, and so on and so on until you reach your goal weight. This is a lifelong commitment, so dont stop after reaching your goalweight. My family and friends at work all say I am half the man I used to be. They are not very far off! I went from wearing 3X shirts and 50 waist trousers, to wearing large shirts and 34 waist trousers. Yeah, I had to buy all new clothes but I didnt mind the expense one bit. Take care and happy walking. Getting In Shape For Your Wedding

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

By Emily Tanner Getting fit for your wedding day is an important part of the build up as everyone wants to look every bit perfect. You will very much be on show for the whole of the day and you dont want to look back at photographs and regret the way you looked. So, in order to be in pristine condition for your wedding, read on Firstly, write 5 goals on a piece of paper that you hope to have achieved by the time your wedding arrives. Remember to make them aspirational as well as realistic. You should include things like:- I would like to reach 120lb I am going to cleanse, tone and moisturise my skin every day for 6 months I am going to stop taking sugar in my tea. I am going to introduce more chicken, fish and whole grains into my diet Im going to have a size 12 wedding dress that fits! I choose to replace alcohol with fruit juice and water Produce a few copies of these goals and dot them around the house. Ensure you put a copy on the fridge or on the biscuit cupboard. Then, when you are feeling like eating a naughty snack, you can see your goals which may stop you from having an unnecessary munch! There are many different ways in which you can lose weight for your wedding and your choice of diet is dependant on your size, frame, type of job etc. You need to choose something that is right for you a diet that you can easily manage along with all the wedding planning. The best diets are the easy ones so bear this in mind. Usually, the simple art of eating more fresh fruit and vegetables, reducing fats, dairy produce and red meats and replacing them with whole grains and pulses is a good place to start. In addition to your new diet, you must ensure that you drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. This will leave you feeling cleansed, keep your skin hydrating and make you feel a million dollars in time for the wedding. Drinking plenty of water also helps flush toxins out of the body. Next you need to think about exercise. When questioned in February, many people who enrolled at a gym in January had only been twice. If you enjoy going to the gym and know you can stick to it then fine. But, if you dont think you can keep up with it, then try something else. Walking to work rather than taking the bus or running up and down the stairs each morning before getting in the shower are better ways to burn excess calories. You are much more likely to stick at it too. When it comes to your skin, invest in some good quality cleansing products. Make every effort to remove make-up each evening and try to exfoliate once a week. This will allow new skin to grow and dead skin cells to be removed. Healthy eating, drinking plenty of water and getting exercise will all help with the quality of your skin too.Remember that you need to look at changing yourself slowly. Whether you are starting a new exercise regime or a diet [or both!] you need to give yourself 6 12 months to reach your goal. Crash diets and sudden weight loss often make you feel lethargic and tired as well as leave your skin feeling dry. If you want the weight to stay off for your honeymoon, you need to think long term. Equally, if you want to continue into married life with glowing skin and healthy nails, you need to keep up the water and fresh foods. Tooth Whitening

Monday, January 21st, 2008

By Jason Gluckman Tooth whitening is the process by which the yellowish layer of teeth is removed to give pearly white teeth. The process lightens the natural color of the yellowish teeth without removing any of the tooth surfaces, thus giving a brighter tooth color. Of late, there are many varieties of products and procedures available that help improve the smile by whitening the teeth. Obviously, better looking teeth and a better smile improve the overall look. Of the many types of tooth-whitening procedures available, the at-home bleaching kit is the most popular choice. Mouth trays, which are aids that are used in tooth whitening, are usually made in just one office visit. Some of these trays are worn for an hour, and others have to be through the night. Dentists charge anywhere between $100 and $600 for tooth-whitening services, and the prices of tooth-whitening kits vary from company to company. Bonding of teeth is done by using a composite resin that is molded onto the teeth in order to change their color and to reshape them. Also, porcelain veneers, which are shell-like facings, can be bonded onto stained teeth. These are used to reshape and lengthen teeth, as well as to whiten them. Toothpastes that offer to whiten teeth are also effective in keeping the teeth cleaner and, therefore, looking whiter. The latest high-tech option in tooth whitening is laser tooth whitening. Needless to say, the tooth-whitening toothpaste is the cheapest option when compared to all these other treatments. It is advisable to first confirm with the dentist the best method. People with joint problems and high sensitivity to hot and cold foods or drinks as well as those with crack lines in their teeth are better advised against tooth whitening. Gum infections should be treated before the procedure is carried out. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should be excluded from bleaching procedures since there is no adequate knowledge regarding the possible ill effects on pregnancy. Tooth Whitening provides detailed information on Tooth Whitening, Professional Tooth Whitening, Laser Tooth Whitening, Tooth Whitening Systems and more. Tooth Whitening is affiliated with Philadelphia Cosmetic Dentists. Tips For An Elegant And Memorable Wedding

By Ricky Alberta The measure of a memorable wedding is no longer defined by how much it costs. Traditional weddings have made way for a more individual and creative approach to walking down the aisle. But how can you ensure you have the elegant and memorable wedding that you want? If your budget allows, the best advice is to hire a wedding planner. A wedding planners job is to make your wedding dreams come true. They will ensure that your facility is booked, the flowers are fresh and beautiful and that the service throughout dinner is exceptional. Wedding planners are professionals in their field and will range in price and experience. The time has come to choose a theme. Will you be a fairytale princess with a horse-drawn carriage or will you have a long stretch-limousine? Consider what flower types and colors to use in the bouquets and decorations as well as the best type of music for the ceremony and a menu for the reception. When deciding on a menu and wines try to select items that will accommodate as many of your guests as possible. Find out from your guests if there are any special dietary requirements or allergies Now that you have a theme in mind you need a stage for the show. Selecting the right location will depend on the theme of your wedding. The choices are endless when choosing the right location to match the theme of your wedding. View each location in advance and imagine how you are going to decorate. A beautiful treatment for any water areas is to use floating candles to pepper the surface with romantic lighting. The last thing to do is have fun and be flexible! Your wedding is a celebration and it is possible that one or two things may not go according to plan. The more you enjoy yourself, the more your guests will enjoy themselves. Gala Invitations offers the highest quality, custom printed wedding invitations. Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen After Wife Gets MBA

By Hesh Reinfeld “Hesh, where is your business plan? It was a question I expected from my banker, but not from my wife. She tried to sweeten it by adding, honey? It didnt help. I looked at her in disgust. I realized I had created a monster. Let me explain. I had encouraged Sue to go back to school. The kids were entering middle school, she was bored with car pooling, and we also could use the extra money. I told her not to limit herself to speech therapy, her profession before having children. I suggested she see a career psychologist. To my surprise, she scored very well in finance. I think it related to her compulsiveness for details. Then, as always, luck played its part. The business school was under pressure to bring more women over the age of 40 into its mid-career MBA program. Sue applied, was accepted, and a year later she had an MBA (and I am proud to say she finished in the top 10 percent of her class). But then she crossed the line. Sue started getting involved in my business. We always had a non-verbal agreement. She stayed out of my business, other then answering the phones when my secretary took a three-month maternity leave. And I stayed out of her gourmet kitchen. She hated all those husbands who thought they could star in their own cooking shows on cable TV. And yet, she just could not let this one issue pass her by. I thought I had found manna from God again. I was ready to bet all of this years profits on the acquisition of my competitors inventory. The guy was liquidating his company after 20 years in business. Sue saw this as a sign that future growth was improbable. I, on the other hand, saw it as an opportunity to buy low, sell high, and pocket a hefty profit. She reminded me of some of my other purchases that were real dogs. I counter punched, reminding her of the one killing I had made; that deal had paid off the mortgage on our condo at the beach. Sue continued to pepper me with questions about projected sales, potential competition from China, warehousing costs, and rising interest rates. All the while she was putting the numbers into a spreadsheet on her laptop. She flipped it around, and showed me the results. Her projections showed that I had miscalculated. She thought I would be so proud of her work. Instead, I stormed out. She followed me upstairs. Dont clam up, she yelled. Remember what Walter (our marriage counselor) told you. Stop distancing yourself. Tell me what you really feel. Say it to me right now. OK, I blurted out. Stay out of my business. When I started, I had no help. I did it all by myself. Sure, I made mistakes, but I just kept on working harder. Now you want to get involved, use all your MBA smarts to improve the business? And who will get all the credit? You. She continued her ranting My God, I married you because I thought you really respected me as an equal. Now I realize you are jealous. Youre just like your friends. Youre afraid I am smarter than you; and you cant deal with it. Just as quickly she calmed down and asked, Honey, how can we fix this problem? I love you too much to let this get between us. Let me cook Sunday night dinner, I said. I have this great brazed-beef recipe. Her response was quick and emphatic, Hell no. Stay out of my kitchen.
